When I was a kid, sixty year olds were ancient. Now I'm pushing sixty myself, I don't feel anywhere near as old. Not having been in WWII and a Russian POW, like my grandpa, definitely helped.

Nice, that means they can work longer and be productive! /s
You joke, but I'm 67 and won't be giving up work unless I win the lottery. Can't afford to 😞
Then again, I don't look, feel, act or dress like I'm 67. Am usually regarded as mid 50s. Which is nice.
The reason 65 was picked as retirement age - Back in the day, Bismarck asked his advisors at what age is a worker too decrepit to be useful. In those days, most jobs involved hard physical labor with poor/no medical treatment. A 65 year old man in 1865 had been working for 50 years without things like vacations, air conditioning, etc etc.
Gen-X here. At 51 I still like new music, still skateboard, snowboard, would surf if there was a beach, still play metal and punk, still make beats, still love video games, etc. I can genuinely say that I stopped internally aging thirty years ago. My body though...
Does that mean 12 is the new toddler?
