AIM-9 missiles can also be fired from NASAMS ground-based launchers, which Ukraine operates. You don't get nearly the same range, but, if you have a giant pile of missiles, it is nice to have multiple ways to use them.
Love to see the Javelins and (soon) more Javelin footage of Russian invaders suddenly ceasing invading.
