I love the way he revs up for it but also is trying to keep from laughing

[–] Zehzin@lemmy.world 41 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Tim: Fellas, can we do another shot

Director: Don't you fucking dare

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 21 points 2 years ago

Probably the other way around.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He seems like he had an absolute blast with that role.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago

He definitely did. There are some outtake videos and he and George Takei were just hamming it up

[–] rbos@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 years ago

That gif is screaming for a supergalactic treatment.

Best known for saying the word "Space" in Red Alert

He's been in a wheelchair since he had a stroke in 2012, so most people haven't really seen him in over a decade. But I think he's still doing some voice work!

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 19 points 2 years ago

I wasn't aware of that. What a shame. IMDB shows he's done a handful of VO roles, but nothing since a livestream version of Rocky Horror which was apparently done in front of webcams back in 2020. I hope he's doing as well as he can considering the circumstances.

He's gone the way of Wade Boggs. Very sad.

[–] AtariDump@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wade Boggs is still very much alive, I assure you.

[–] bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 years ago

God rest him

[–] FiniteBanjo@lemmy.today 6 points 2 years ago

I thought they shot out his deadlights? /s

Guess the rocky horror picture show is already consigned to the archives

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 13 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He was in C&C 3 and I can't help but think he had to have been in other games, right? I probably even played some; but I can't remember anything other than "I'm going to the one place that hasn't been corrupted by capitalism.... Heavy breathing SPACE!"

[–] lemmy_get_my_coat@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

In hindsight I think he was onto something

I want to go back to a simpler world, where space wasn't corrupted by capitalism.

Best known as the narrator of the Abhorsen and Series of Unfortunate Events audiobooks

[–] numberfour002@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (3 children)

He was in a horror movie, I'm sure lots of people have seen IT.

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Home Alone2? And IT was an orange man in a hotel lobby?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

The Worst Witch wasn't a horror movie, silly!

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 9 points 2 years ago

He was Nigel Thornburry.

[–] PM_ME_SNEKS_IN_HATS@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Isn't that the guy from "The Worst Witch" and its timeless dance and song number?

[–] JamesNZ@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Yes, but even better known for the reading of this classic Oscar Wilde children's book. I had this on tape as a kid, and his voice is so soothing. https://youtu.be/du3L7iSEbI4?si=HYHXonpaL11juHIf

[–] Weirdfish@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Best known for his work as the poet in episode 2 of Lexx.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Such an underrated show.

I seem to recall a scene where he pretends lingerie is currency “… and here’s some more money … oh look! a crisp twenty-dollar bill ...” but can’t remember the source. Am I misremembering?

[–] LeadPharmer@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That would be his role as Doctor Poole in the movie Oscar. One of my favorite comedies of all time.

[–] Septimaeus 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Yes! Thank you! Here’s the scene https://youtu.be/Bz8u8_39lCo

Edit: thanks again, that would’ve bugged me for a while lol

[–] Blahaj_Blast@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Pretty sure this is his most iconic role

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Have you ever noticed that all of the bad guys in Don Bluth films have big teeth? Even if they're penguins.

[–] Lavitz@lemmings.world 5 points 2 years ago

The wildest of the Thornberrys

[–] mortrek@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

You mean Gabriel Knight?

[–] piranhaphish@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Whatever. He's a hot dog!

[–] Hyphlosion@donphan.social 2 points 2 years ago

Forte the pipe organ from Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas.

Say what you will about the movie itself, but I absolutely loved this character.
