Yeah, he's literally a Cuban emigre and one that came here 'cause he's anti-communist or his family was.

He literally campaigned throughout his career on being a "Cuban" and being "anti-Castro."

Funnier than that. Menendez' family came to the US in 1953, which means that he is a refugee from Batista. Robert himself was born in 1954 in New Jersey and is therefore as american as they come.
