This all sounds far too plausible.

The least plausible part is the FTL travel. But I wouldn't put it past those imagineers.

Buying Apple in this decade or the next is out-and-out fantasy. They're currently worth US$3 trillion. Apple has more wealth than most countries. Disney is worth just over US$200 billion.

Apple even considered buying Disney. There's a whole Wikipedia article about it, apparently. It kinda makes sense. Apple was owned by that Pixar guy, Steve something.

2062 - Disney acquires the BBC. Doctor Who is now a Disney princess

Huh.

[–] Redfox8@mander.xyz 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Definitely the most disturbing part. I could live with the rest of it.

[–] Lemming421@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hah. But I meant that this one has already happened. They didn’t buy the whole BBC, but they are funding the new Doctor Who and releasing it on Disney Plus.

Good point, I'd forgotten about that. The intro special to the new series does already show a certain step up special effects. Not sure I'm overly keen on that, the roughness has always been a bit of a charm for me!

Master Chef being a Disney Princess? Na give that one to Cortana and let MC be prince charming.

[–] Redfox8@mander.xyz 3 points 1 year ago

Having The Doctor as a contestant on Master Chef...now that would be messing with the programming. Soufflé girl could work though...

On a side thought, Master Cheif as a Disney princess....

I'm so tired of seeing this post because it's so damn long.

Connect for lemmy needs to set a maximum picture display size for the news fees so I don't have to scroll past shit like this over and over.

[–] Stamets@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

That is legitimately one of the reasons why I use Boost

[–] halferect@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I use connect and you can do that in settings

Wicked I'm going to take a look now, cheers cobber

Jerboa seriously needs to figure out how to handle images this big. It took me a full 3 seconds to scroll past this.

I know I'm not a programmer and I appreciate all the hard work put into Jerboa but an image size limit seems basic.

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 3 points 1 year ago

Hahhaha I just said something similar about connect.

I have had to scroll past this damn post so many times.
