General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

No offence, but fuck the Tories with a really long chainsaw.

They are brutally corrupt to the core and trying their best to screw everyone who isn’t their mates (ie not rich donors) .

I wouldn't say they're trying to screw everyone. They just accept that it's an inevitable part of capitalism and neoliberalism.

I worry that everyone has very high hopes expectations of labour and that they should all be ready to be rather disappointed.

Do you want the big blue satan themed spiky dildo, or the slightly smaller red satan themed spiky dildo?

I honestly don't expect that I'd notice the difference!

Except it doesn’t need to be part of it. Capitalism is perfectly capable of being run in a manner that is not corrupt and greedy.

There is a middle ground between socialism and neoliberalism that has been moved away from with increasing rapidity by the Tories.

I'm inclined to agree, I'm just sceptical that labour are going to be the change that we want to see.

Sure, they'll probably be slightly less evil than the Tories, but not by a considerable amount.

Picture has at least three local party thumb men in it. Shouldn’t they be off pretending to be members of the public on Question Time?

Is it worse if they're not aware of what they've done to this country?

That might actually work out in their favour.

It's another headline detailing how the Tories are fucked!

They did this when Boris won.

Do not think "Eh, no point voting then" that's what they want.

Seriously this is all an exercise in brainwashing. If you hate the Tories then fucking vote
