Idk I enjoy rlm but I don't know how they show so much sympathy for and ended up expecting so much from that stooge Syril
videos
Breadtube if it didn't suck.
Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.
Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.
There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.
A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
I'm going to assume they loved it and said it was the only good star war since the og because you would have to be an idiot not to come to that conclusion after watching as much star war as they have.
Yeah, they mostly really liked it.
The thumbnails always have me laughing. I see Rich's eyes still have not recovered from watching all that Star Trek: Picard.
I hate these hacks.
They're hack frauds
They made one popular review about The Phantom Menace and, suddenly, everyone defends them to high heaven. They haven't made a good review since. And their main claim to fame is a sexist and racist review. Oh yeah, and inspiring MauLer to make his overly-long reviews who, in turn, inspired other right-wing Star Wars YouTubers to come out of the woodworks.
And the actual movie they made was horrid. I'd rather watch The Phantom Menace over the movie they directed.
I remember how they said Rogue One "had no humor" (right as they showed a scene with K-2SO in a comedic scene). "AT-AT! AT-AT!" Did you watch the same movie?
And they gave The Force Awakens a good review? What?
But their fans are like "Have you seeen their 2009 review of TPM?"
Yes? It doesn't hold up. This is YouTube in 2024. People have done it better now.
How embarrassing.
It is, and it's getting annoying hearing their fans from 2009 make excuses for them.
Hell, the prequels are better appreciated now (though I still think Attack of the Clones was bad) and the 2009 review doesn't... doesn't hold up, you know?
I mean, what is Qui-Gon Jinn's personality? We know that he was an unorthodox rebellious Jedi that was at odds with the Council and was calm and compassionate in contrast to his more conservative student who does care for Qui-Gon but wants to be in tune with what the Council wants.
Who is the main character of TPM? Some films are ensemble casts or did the reviewer not study this in film school before he made his own terrible film?
And he literally uses his friends in one part of the review to make the whole "oh, the OT characters had personalities and the people have spoken!"
Don't get me wrong: TPM is arguably still a mediocre movie, even if it was ultimately about a Walmart (read: Trade Federation) taking over a planet (topical!).
But the reviews themselves just... don't hold up.
And people continue to say "Oh, but have you seen his great 90 minute review of TPM?!" as if that will somehow make the criticisms of him go away.
I mean, one lady that was in their friend group even said that the head of the group (I forgot his name so sorry) was sexist and abusive and that's why she left the group.
Frankly, why doesn't he disavow people like MauLer that take after him or are inspired by him?
Just... influencers on YouTube can really piss me off sometimes because they attract the worst fans, smdh

i think not acknowledging that weirdo is the better way. like i would never have heard of him if it wasn't for whatever breadtube loser talked about it.
Fair.
I mostly just like Best of the Worst where they just get drunk and dunk on bad VHS tapes.
Yeah
Yup.
Need a snickers?
No?
And they gave The Force Awakens a good review? What?
they soured on it over time. TFA seems good if you've steeled yourself for the prequels again but obviously it doesn't survive critical thinking or a view of the whole trilogy.
Many people knew it was bad at the time. Some judgment they have.
TFA was made to tailor to people like them who wanted to feel like star wars was "back" for them. The folks who never forgave the franchise for appealing to a younger audience. I like a lot in TFA, but its approach is certainly one for all the people who didn't learn the lesson Kevin Smith did.
Precisely. Yeah.
"RedLetterMedia"
Ugh.
