Seriously though no I've had it for a bit but I just loaded it up. Seems neat but I haven't gotten very far.

You're in for about 90 hours, so be ready for that.

Hell yeah! emilie->=3

I love Crosscode so much

I tried it and it just seemed so damn grindy

Also never liked the .hack style thing where they know they're in a video game, it makes the stakes feel so low

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It's not grindy if you do the "side"quests, which are all usually quite unique and worth it.

the stakes feel so low

That changes later on sergey-chad

For me though the best part was the fast-paced difficult (specially endgame and post-game) yet fun and engaging combat. lea-bounce

I don't know where the grind is. Every area is kind of capped. You level up to the area's strength very quickly and then no amount of grinding really makes you much stronger. I honestly felt like there was too little grind for a game of its style, if anything.

And yeah, I completely agree with you about the stakes thing, and I assure you it is not a problem Crosscode has.

I don't know where the grind is

I was playing the game wrong for my first few hours and just fighting enemies instead of doing quests and getting better gear. Might be what he was doing too.

Any other traps i should avoid?

[–] Aquilae@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

Haha I don't think so

convince me to play it, why is it good?

Gorgeous pixel art ✅

comedi ✅

Difficult, engaging, flashy combat ✅

Also some of the coolest bossfights I've seen in video games. Specially late- to post-game.

Conclusion: Must play

Honestly I don't get why this isn't as popular as indie megahits like Hollow Knight and Celeste. It's easily of the same quality.
