I remember watching this the week it came out.

Then suddenly BJ Novak stopped appearing on The Office and I immediately went into conspiracy mode.

Nothing actually happened. He was doing other stuff. But I still think it's eggspiracy.

His career just eggspired

[–] Coach@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Is this some sort of yolk?

[–] _sideffect@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Shit, this was happening all the way from 2007??

You bet! They've also been making the cardboard tubes in things like toilet paper larger, so it looks like you're getting the same sized (or even bigger) roll but you're actually getting less, despite the packaging claiming there's more right there on the package.

[–] _sideffect@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Making the tubes bigger is one thing, but lying about getting more should be a crime

Also I noticed that charmin changed their design of the toilet paper itself where it separates the pieces. It used to be a single dashed line, now it's a wave form.

I compared it to an old roll I had, and the squares have a slightly less surface area.

So again, we're paying the same for less.

They get around it by making (or picking) a smaller, unrelated version, then putting in huge print "33% bigger than X!"

Lol, assholes

Have one, but you still need to dry your behind after (unless you like soggy underwear)

Drag your ass across the carpet

[–] Mostly_Gristle@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Way before that, actually. When I was a kid in the 80s they were about the same size as grade A large chicken eggs. They were already noticably smaller by 2007. Don't even get me started on Doritos.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Back in my day a single dorito was the size of an airplane wing.

The Pilgrims would ride these babies for days.

I'm slightly pissed about the shrinkage, but really pissed that they don't come in packages anymore (at least not where I live). It's bad enough I have to scan my own groceries, but now I have to scan 8-12 individual eggs in a row. What's next?

[–] TubeTalkerX@kbin.social 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm pissed they taste like straight-up shit now!

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 17 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I've never eaten shit so I'll take your word on it.

All this time that Kanye lyric was referencing an Adam Sandler movie?

[–] captainjaneway@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Happy Gilmore. A pretty good - albeit goofy and weird - movie.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

You just never remember eating shit.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Only logical choice is to buy the 48 pack from Costco or Amazon.

[–] FuryMaker@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Just stop buying that crap.

Protest with your wallet.

[–] EdibleFriend@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

They're $1.35 a piece here this year.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 6 points 1 year ago

I guess they're an acquired taste, because the one time I tried one I thought they should be way smaller.

The Mini Eggs are superior. (The ones called Mini Eggs, not the smaller cream eggs.)

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Did Cadbury ever make a statement regarding this?

[–] Jordan117@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

They updated the FAQ to say:

As the world's largest confectionery company, Cadbury Schweppes is committed to developing great-tasting products that consumers love. Since people's preferences vary from market to market, so do our products. This is reflected in the broad variety of sizes and flavors of products that we offer our consumers worldwide.

If you're eating a Cadbury Crème Egg in the UK or Canada - nothing has changed, they're the same size as ever. However, in the United States, our business partner, Hershey, elected to reduce the size of the crème egg.

Cadbury Eggs remain a consumer favorite and continue to be an excellent value. We apologize for any confusion or misleading information.

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

oh I forgot about all the international company/brand/product nonsense

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 2 points 1 year ago

These are probably the only things I wouldn't mind being a bit smaller. Just 1 feels like it can give you diabetes by itself.

Thanks, Blow Job!
