Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

The Greek gods were frequently described as being like this. They were some combination of angry, stupid and conceited a lot of the time. Petulant children, just like the humans who worshipped them.
The only difference is that you might get away with calling a fellow human angry, stupid or conceited. Those very qualities in the gods made that much less likely if you did it to them.
There's a neat link with satire and human leaders if you squint a bit. I mean it isn't that long since they were declaring themselves gods. And a few still claim their right under the name of some god or another.
God is an asshole. Check your Old Testament. Jesus did the love thing. God's a fucking prick. And isn't real.
