The final season will be split across 2 cours, the first of which is premiering sometime in 2024. Check out the ANN article for additional cast/staff information. Synopsis of the source manga from AniList:

One night at Cherryton Academy, an herbivore student is brutally murdered. Among the members of the Drama Club, the herbivores’ suspicions naturally turn to their carnivore classmates… The prime suspect? Gray wolf Legoshi. But he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Or would he? Will dwarf rabbit Haru bring out the beast in him? Or are his feelings for her…something else?

Two parts tho so maybe they go the Attack on Titan route and we get two seasons labeled as one season with two parts.

Is that last word a real word or just a typo of hours?

If not a typo what the hell is a "cour?"

Edit: It is a word. It means 3 months of broadcasting. So ok, that's a relief. I really thought that was a typo lol

Yeah, I believe it is short for a quarter of a year. They even use the same word in Japanese, written as クール (ku-ru).

According to ANN, it's from the French cours meaning an educational course, or series of lessons, or a single lesson or lecture, or a river/stream, or "course" as in "to run its (river-like) course"

Don't ask me how that applies to TV shows.

Wikipedia says in Japanese TV production it's used to refer to production of about 11-13 episodes, which was the first thing that popped up when I searched the word.

Yeah I know that, but I was referring to how "a series of lessons", or "a single lesson or lecture", or "a river/stream" applies to a "production of 11-13 episodes" of a TV show.

TIL! It is easy to forget sometimes that loan words don't just come from English.

Just rewatched it last month, can't wait for the new season even though it's ending!
