Just look at the cancer rates. Or the property value. Or the people.

Cancer Alley is aptly named. Whatever we think the status is, it’s worse. It is inhumane.

These are some of the most conservative people in the country living here. The overwhelming majority of them want absolutely nothing to change. When someone gets cancer, they turn to "god" for help. Any effort to make their environment cleaner or healthier would be immediately denounced as "government overreach" or "socialism."

Bingo. I’m from a similar state, and it was awful how they would actually defend the ones that were destroying their land and their health.

The reason these places have all the producers of the carcinogens is because they’re poor and have no political power., And they have historically been predominantly black.
