I do strongly disapprove of how AI is being leveraged currently, FWIW.

I was added as a mod to a community by surprise a while back - Lenovo. I don’t actually know much about Lenovo. It seems like the system should ask for your confirmation - people could be added to subs they don’t want to be associated with.
