Pro-tip: cleaning is essential. You know that you fucked the cleaning up when you see yellow flames everywhere. (Sodium has strong emissions and is a common impurity.)
Someone in HN is recommending methanol; I'd advise against it. The fact that methanol fire is invisible is a two-edged sword, it won't interfere on the flame but if you got something burning you'll only notice it too late. And more importantly it's highly toxic. Seriously, stick to high-grade ethanol.
