On this day in 1967, the Israeli Army occupied the West Bank and Gaza Strip, claiming emergency powers with a military decree that greatly restricts the rights of the occupied. The ongoing occupation is the longest in the modern era.
The Israeli Army action took place in the context of the Six Day War, fought between Israel and a coalition of Arab states. The status of the West Bank as a militarily occupied territory has been affirmed by the International Court of Justice and, with the exception of East Jerusalem, by the Israeli Supreme Court.
According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), the military proclamation issued by the Israeli Army on June 7th, 1967 permitted the application of the Defense (Emergency) Regulations of 1945.
These regulations empowered, and continue to empower, authorities to declare as an "unlawful association" groups that advocate for "bringing into hatred or contempt, or the exciting of disaffection against" the authorities, and criminalize membership in or possession of material belonging to or affiliated, even indirectly, with these groups.
HRW goes on to state that these and other broad restrictions on the occupied population violate international law: "The Israeli army has for over 50 years used broadly worded military orders to arrest Palestinian journalists, activists and others for their speech and activities - much of it non-violent - protesting, criticizing or opposing Israeli policies. These orders are written so broadly that they violate the obligation of states under international human rights law to clearly spell out conduct that could result in criminal sanction."
Following the military occupation of the West Bank, Israel began expropriating the land and facilitating Israeli settlements in the area, broadly considered a violation of international law. While Israelis in the West Bank are subject to Israeli law and given representation in the Israeli Knesset, Palestinian civilians, mostly confined to scattered enclaves, are subject to martial law and are not permitted to vote in Israel's national elections.
This two-tiered system has inspired comparisons to apartheid, likening the dense disconnected pockets that Palestinians are relegated to with the segregated Bantustans that previously existed in South Africa when the country was still under white supremacist rule.

I have been playing total warhammer 3 more during summer break, more just playing diferent factions for 30-40 turn and then changing. I played clan mors for the first time on immortal empires and taking 8 peaks was easier than i thought and skarbrand never attacked me at the end i just stockpile food to get lvl 5 8 peaks and the bonus was pretty strong and made enough money for like 4 full armies
then i played Kholek for a bit trying to see how i should vassal stack, and them Karl franz , the empire really goes to shit fast, i decided to run north since everyone always just rushes vlad and i can see why, also very late i realised that all the blue on bretonnia wasnt Louen but Grom the paunch and he declared war on me. ts been fun. also am really liking the many hotfixes CA has been doing even if they break my saves, its more support than what they used to do.
I also have been getting back into TWW3 recently
I'm surprised Heinrich Kemmler wasn't also kicking down your backdoor in the Franz game, Brettonia has gotten so powercrept they can't keep anybody over there in check anymore.
How is playing Kholek now? I would assume it's a massive pain in the ass starting off at war with Tamurkhan (my new best homie.)
Maybe I'll do Archaon > Kholek > Sigvald this weekend I haven't played WoC in a while.
He did a bit in the first franz game by taking marienburg and double teamming me with vlad (there was a hotfix so the save got corrupted) in the second one he got triple attack by bretonnia, marienburg and N'Kari.
Kholek is weird because you are locked by 3 legendary lords, Zhatan starts with a non agression pact so you a block from going east for a few turn, at the start you expand south but get block by grimgor who can abuse underways to snipe your armies in the mountains and you start at war with tamurkhan since he is at war with the norcan tribe you vassalise and if you beat him you then border meet archaon, its a bit of backtraking but kholek with a few dragon orgres can solo most armies and you can get an easy early 3 vassal for 15% weapon damage, you just have to know when to pick your fights, getting an early nurgle mage is really strong too
WoC is a really fun faction to play
Oh yeah, I almost forgot Archaon is also right there and from my experience likes to attack Tamurkhan so I suppose that also takes some of the pressure off of you.
For sure, for sure. Last time I was playing regularly I was just playing Bel'akor over and over again lol. It's just so fun playing pokemon and confederating/vassalizing everyone.
