How long would it take for people to realize someone was immortal
Eternity. They only think about themselves.
In Vampire: The Masquerade, we would have multiple identities in each country. And when someone did figure it out, we'd either mind control them or have them killed.
Since when do vampires have mind control?
Since Bram Stoker's Dracula at least, but they expand on it a lot in the game setting. Vampires rule the world - presidents and billionaires around the world fall victim to the vampire Camarilla.
There is a good old movie raising this question, among others: "The man from earth"
I really liked that movie
