Japanese actor and model Ryoma Takeuchi (who cameoed in Detective Pikachu, among other roles) will take on the lead role of Kazuma Kiryu, while Masaharu Take (The Naked Director) will direct.

Love the games. Wonder how well they can pull off a show.

I really hope this is good. Amazon isn't exactly known for doing these well, but if they pull this off the games have massive potential. The story is fantastic.

EDIT: Okay, its a little bit disappointing theyre not adapting any of the story from the games. Also, Ryoma may be a good actor but he doesn't really resemble Kiryu from any of the games very much.

The adaptation won't directly adapt any of the existing Yakuza games, and instead will showcase an original story "that games in the past have not been able to explore," according to Prime Video's press release.
