That will never not be funny to me as someone who works in manufacturing. Of course they’re going to learn how to make stuff, you have to give them the blueprint so they can make it in the first place lmfao. Another one that is still pervasive is the idea that Chinese steel is still inferior to American steel. Bud China makes so much of the world’s steel you would have to be dog shit stupid to believe we don’t have tons of bridges and buildings made out if it.

Chinese steel varies in quality just like everywhere else.

I can say that there are some kinds of steels they aren't as good at yet, or at least aren't consistently branding so that you can find them, but that mostly comes down to heat treatment of near-finishee steels that is current a semi-"artisinal" market. I'm sure that will go by the wayside in a few years as they develop better and better tools steels.

Yes I agree, but since I work in manufacturing I talk about material a lot with my coworkers and they all swear that ALL Chinese made ANYTHING is just bad.
