Works like a charm on my potato and it's even got a nice crt shader built in. I guess I just can't handle retroarch on this laptop, but that's okay! Standalone emulators do the job just fine for me.

Retroarch fucking sucks anyway. I was testing Playstation emulation (smelliest version of Tactics Ogre) on an android 7.0 box with an Allwinner H616 SoC and 2GB RAM, all the Retroarch cores (Swanstation, both versions of Beetle) ran like dogshit except PCSX ReARMed, which is inaccurate trash. Conversely I fire up standalone Duckstation and get flawless fullspeed Playstation, even in intensive games like Klonoa.

The retroarch lead dev is a transphobe or something, uphold standalone emulator thought.

I like Mednaffen's performance and stuff but the Mednaffe GUI is a nightmare. Also its Saturn emu won't boot games in Linux unless the controller is disconnected :/

Oh, then I will stop using the software for good, thanks for letting me know.

Np, fwiw I still use it because it's the only option sometimes but it's also just a mess of like 30 different submenus within submenus, borderline unusable imo ✨
