I grew up in rural southwestern Pennsylvania and there was a family of beavers that would keep coming back every time they got removed. The government stopped trying after a while and the beavers went crazy and caused severe flooding on the regular.
The rabbit hole I went down was videos about some dude that unblocks drains, he seemingly expanded because he started removing beaver dams in some videos in America and holy fuck, their impact on the environment can not be underestimated. I think it was in your backyard too.
