Ive heard many claims about how queer people's identities are repressed in China (such as the government censoring queer reprisentation in media) and i want to know how true these claims are. And if so, when, how and why these laws were passed.

Typically, the burden of proof is on the one making the claims. If those people claiming that the Chinese government represses queer people have no source, they are probably talking out of their ass.
