It just sort of happens whenever there's enough queer folk in one place. XD
I'm not saying every 196 user is an autistic gay furry communist programmer, but I am saying they're at least two of those things until proven otherwise.
But quite a few of us are, in fact, all of the above.

Well I don't identify as a furry, but if people start meowing it'd be rude of me not to join in :3
The percentage of furries that are queer is definitely higher than the total population average; I wonder if the percentage of queer folk who are furries is also similarly higher.
As of the last survey a few years back, something like 80% of furries are queer.
Never saw estimates for how many queer folks are furries but I suspect it's a tiny fraction.
Separately, the number of furries who are in IT is supposedly very high as well, though I have yet to meet any.
I've noticed this myself! Any moderately-sized org probably has a furry or two keeping things running behind the scenes.
