His Studio Ghibli – the artistic force behind Spirited Away, for which he won an Oscar in 2003, My Neighbour Totoro and Howl’s Moving Castle – took the unusual step of keeping details of the plot secret.

Speculation about How Do You Live? had been building for months, not least because it is expected to be the last by the 82-year-old, who spent five years making the film after reversing a decision to retire.

I wonder how they'll handle marketing after release and later in the west. Information about the plot is now widely available, though I haven't seen any screencaps yet. Maybe they'll release some for press reviews? I expect we'll get regular marketing with trailers in the west.

Hope so too. Here's the (only) movie poster afaik.

Add.Note at the end of the article are some impressions: One fan who had just watched the film at a cinema in Tokyo said the film was the “culmination” of Miyazaki’s anime output.
