Yanks usually mix "Columbia" and "Colombia"
Pretty much pronounce them the same too
I mean they're bamed after the same guy (Physicist Charles-Augustin de Coulomb)
They're actually named after lovable detective Lieutenant Frank Columbo
kinda easy to mix two words that are literally both derived from columbus

There was another headline recently that I felt was probably editorial boards hoping to get clicks from news feeds that truncate them.
Opens with "Colombia says thousands of grenades and rifles found..." but ends with "...missing from military bases"
*stealing weapons from military is still based as long as they aren't given to fascists
It's very likely those weapons went to fascist paramilitaries who terrorize the countryside, so yeah.
