I nominate the turnip. There's a reason why it gets pickled. Because it's weird.

Turnip isn’t the most exciting vegetable but it’s certainly not the worst

Fully agree. I quite like it grated with a squeeze of lime/lemon on it and some black pepper. It has a unique sulfur laden burn but is also cool and refreshing. Peeling the turnip reduces the burn.
