This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

The concept of federated social media is a much more left-leaning approach compared to the mainstream likes of Twitter, Reddit, etc. The people that chose to use Lemmy are much more likely to have left leaning views on other topics as well, skewing the whole platform left.
The left certainly isn't a monolith. Just as some of these views may be standard socialist / communist viewpoints, a left-leaning platform is also more likely to have a disproportionate number of Russian and Chinese apologists.

I used to be more neutral towards China but the more I read the more I envy how their government is doing. Besides saving possibly millions of lives through their COVID policy, they've been kicking ass recently:

It's strange you say this as if there is any consensus on the left that these countries are in need of apology
If anything, we the collective west owe them too many apologies to ever count. But instead, we're watching a genocide unfold from the brink of WW3 for reasons that are entirely our governments fault, and every channel is absolutely swamped with American and "Isreali" apologia.
