I remember trying Bumble back in the day. I had better luck with Fetlife. Personally you just got better luck in general through just going outside and bumping into people. It's like that boomer thing about handing out resumes in person, but actually real.
Signed up for Fetlife after reading this, I'll give it a shot. Might actually find someone looking for a blank slate to train.
I wish you well. Follow events so you can get to know your community and properly vet each other. From there you can meet some genuinely great people. At the very least, the circles I've hung out in have been great.
