According to interviews with two dozen people on both sides who were granted anonymity to discuss a sensitive subject, the relationship between the Democratic president and the country’s newspaper of record — for years the epitome of a liberal press in the eyes of conservatives — remains remarkably tense, beset by misunderstandings, grudges and a general lack of trust. Complaints that were long kept private are even spilling into public view, with campaign aides in Wilmington going further than their colleagues in the White House and routinely blasting the paper’s coverage in emailsposts on social media and memos.

Liberal my ass. Fucking bullshit mongers who 100% helped trump in 2016 and will never be forgotten for that. Fuck the NYT. What they’ve done and continue to do wrt trump is just shameful. A pox upon them.

Yeah. In most democracies, the NYT would at this point be a conservative establishment paper. It's only in the USA that they seem liberal.

And the whole thing is fuckin stupid. It's not the press's job to be nice to Biden. It's not anybody's job to give "respect" to the NYT that they sound like they feel they're entitled to. It's okay to work within a cordial professional productive level alongside people you have some level of beef with and don't really like, and it seems like both the Biden and NYT camps have forgotten that.

They don't "seem liberal" at all, it's repeatedly said they're liberal by some in the (especially right-wing) media, and people just regurgitate what they hear. The right-wing media paints literally any source that isn't 100% MAGA as "liberal," rendering the term all but meaningless.
