Judging a skateboarder’s performance has too many variables. Throw big rock far is an easy contest to measure and watch.

Judging a figure skater's performance has just as many variables! There are other more direct examples but the "controversy" around skateboarding came to mind first

All Olympic events that require arbitrary judging should be replaced with Chess.

Honestly I've always held the belief (not strongly, mind you) that competitions with judges doing the scoring aren't really "sports" since you're at the mercy of opinion, not game rules. My personal definition isn't universal and is of course based on nothing.
