I'd like to believe if I opened up my kid's notebook, I would think about how much I love them, how smart they are, what productive people they've turned into. This guy just pushes them away even though they aren't there, and apparently don't want to be near him. It's pathetic and sad.

That person is trying to find any reason, other than himself, that their kids don't like them and don't want to be around them.
