This is an extremely lib take. RF Guerilla just straight up lays it out; You're an exploited worker, your workers movement is being suppressed by Space America, You start out in marginalized wastelands but the final missions take you in to pretty high tech suburbs (The Imperial Core). The final arc is built on acquiring a ~~nuke~~ nanotech deconstructor and weaponizing it to destroy ~~A US carrier battle group~~ an Earth battleship coming to crush the rebellion. The whole thing just straight up says "This is the plight of workers under Imperialism and resistance is not only necessary and justified but totally badass and you should sympathize with and support these people. Their methods are justified and it is only your privileged position far from the violence that lets you tut tut them so blithely. Also, having a nuke is the only way to stave off a US invasion."
