Is there something inside the body like balled up tin foil? I've seen people do armatures and things, but nothing nearly as bulky like this.

Nah, the body is just Styrofoam melted with foam cutter/heat wand thing to shape.

Wow, I would not have guessed that as the material. I assume you have a lot around from being a terrain builder?

Yea I saved it all from a dresser I bought a while back. Slowly finding uses for all of it.

Looks awesome. I'll try and look up old pictures of somebody who made rock golems out of foam- but maybe just the words give an idea.

If you plan on doing more beasties, amazon (and usually local art stores) sell unfinished wood rounds, which make for excellent, perfectly round bases on the cheap

I've seen them at Michaels, might end up grabbing some.
