I am sorry but I find this comment pretty dumb. For one, it is beneficial for Alonso to fight people on a different strategy because when he has a slower car, it is more beneficial for him to slow down the opposition car to his as compared to waving him by and maximising his own race time. He does let verstappen by easily because he knows that even if he fights him tooth and nail, there is no chance of keeping him behind.
Secondly, yes he made a mistake against sainz by getting overzealous in defending but that is a rare mistake for Alonso. The Russell 'brake check' on the other hand is very contentious. He mostly just rolled of the throttle (didn't brake much) to compromise Russell's corner entry. It is naughty but people have done that for years at this point. What was different in this case was that Russell was busy changing settings on his dash and didn't do anything to respond to Alonso's move which resulted in him crashing. It was erratic driving yes but it dangerous only because Russell was not paying attention. I think it was blown way out of proportion by the stewards.
No sense for name calling, please check yourself.
It makes no sense for Alonso to destroy his own tyres and strategy defending from one guy, when there's a lot of other guys waiting to pounce. Sure he might ruin the race of one or two other drivers and keep them behind temporarily. But in the end it also destroys his own strategy. Alonso is pure hero or zero mode. Either he does the impossible thing and is a hero or it turns out to be impossible and he's left with nothing. I also don't believe in Alonso mistakes, he knows exactly what he's doing. He isn't the most experienced driver on the grid for nothing.
