The cryptogrifters assume that their internet funny money will automatically sell and build castles in the sky by planning for how to exploit that automatic success and enshittify it before it even exists.
In my more conspiracy-brained moments, I sometimes think NFTs are a plot to get people to accept DRM by buying into it in the same way homeownership got people to buy into capitalism in the US and UK.
The goal was to tokenize everything instead of having privacy.
