also, this thing about claiming everyone is not unique to serbia, it's extremely widespread from slovakia on down the balkans.
i once stumbled into the site of an earlier wikipedia edit war on franz liszt's ethnicity. hooooooo boy. everyone from the former austrohungrian monarchy was there, trying to claim him.
I reckoned, but it's never a bad idea to clarify tone.
Yeah it seems like it's a Balkan thing lol. I've mainly encountered Serbians doing it, or maybe that's just what has stuck because of my serbian uncle sort of doing the same.
