Not at all. Why would I remove leafs the plant spent energy making that only provide photosynthesis at this point?

Not only that, if it was only photosynthesis, like 2 layers of leaves that completely cover the canopy would be enough, but transpiration is very much dependent on leaf surface area. More transpiration = better nutrient uptake. It is entirely possibly to cause nutrient defficiency symptoms if your plant has not got enough nutrient uptake to keep up with your light levels.

That’s a great point, need to read up on that a little more.

Since removing the humidifier, the plants drinking a hell of a lot more and that makes total sense.
