Yeah, really not sure why it was marketed as a comedy, there were some absurd-chuckle moments, but very few funny-haha moments.
But that's a problem with the marketing, I think when you ignore that the show itself was really well done, and even triggered some relevant trauma, which probably wasn't the intent but I suppose unavoidable when discussing mental illness and how, especially our healthcare system, treats those of us with it..
Will definitely be catching a series 2 if/when it comes out, I have the same questions as you, plus
spoiler
Did Eddie go alone to LA? What happened to the creepy green devil kids? Will Maggie get the help she needs or spiral on her own? Maybe the brother changed his mind and they all conveniently come back to a similar starting point?I rarely care what happens to characters once a show ends, but this one has really left me wondering..
I was expecting something like Derry Girls, definitely was a change of pace. I am looking forward to a second season, but I hope things start to resolve/improve, as its just a depressing spiral at the moment.
I am so confused about the rat hotel thing, what is the deal with that?
Agreed
Lol, I think the idea was that the rats would enjoy hanging out at the hotel enough to keep them there, rather than running around the rest of the pub haha
I thought it was some weird british pub attraction that i hadnt heard of before. If you had said that all pubs have a rat hotel i would have just beleived it :D
Bahahahaha that cracked me up.. 🤣
I could definitely see some hipster pub in Soho or wherever the "hot" place is nowadays starting the trend and setting up a rat hotel, you know, like cat cafes, where the patrons get to interact with the animals.. I know plenty of people who would absolutely love that.. 😂😂
