Lithuania has delivered a new batch of M577 tracked armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry reported on April 6.

Can anybody explain to me how these would be useful in a battlefield like Ukraine is currently? These are fairly shabby (as I understand it) vehicles, and the lines are currently static. So how would mobile command posts be used?

There is always a need for transportation of troops, ie rotation and to/from battlefield. Any armor is better than no armor.
