Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

There were a shockingly large number of non white folks involved in this attack on the capital as well as Trump supporters in general.

Not according to, ya know, the facts...

Keep on focusing on meaningless things such as race and missing the forest for the trees. Then wonder why with nearly every election, Democrats are just barely scraping a win even though their opponents are goddamn fascists. You shouldn't ever lose to a fascist in America, and just barely squeezing out a win is nothing to be proud of.

There are very real voters who are drawn to Trump and thinking that all of them are old, white people is ignorant and dangerous.

And go Google Image Search Proud Boys and tell me those people are old. Because that is another endlessly overuse cliche that all these right wing lunatics are senior citizens and supposedly once they die off, we won't have much to worry about. That is incredibly wrong.

wow, that's some real white privilege you got there to think race is meaningless

oh, and you can stow the rest of your whining, as any rational person can see it as the straw man deflection it really is.

Oh look a shiny ball! Go focus on the shiny ball all while the ruling class fuck everyone over. Simpletons are the ruling class' wet dream.

is repeating the same tired talking point while hurling insults supposed to make you sound clever?

[–] Hazdaz@lemmy.world -4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It is supposed to highlight how utterly clueless some people are. Tools of the bourgeois. Tools, indeed.

[–] whiskeypickle@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago

for someone who fails to grasp the intersection of race and class dynamics to call others "simpletons" and "tools" only makes a joke of themselves. thanks for the laugh.

[–] aidan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Please try to phrase your arguments in a less aggressive and intentionally inflammatory way. You weren't insulting anyone directly but it was on the line, and just encourages a culture or toxicity and ragebaiting.

Do you really think he would have only gotten three years if he was black? Because data shows otherwise. Systemic racism is real and it is a problem. Especially when it comes to putting people in prison, the slavery system which is still legal in this country.
