Are sonic weapons illegal here? Trying to figure out if it's worth complaining to the council about a mosquito-like device. My ears feel like they are gonna bleed after walking near it, I can't imagine what children and other animals go through when being near it :(
I looked it up, but can only find articles about the sonic alarms that under 25s can hear, anti-loitering devices I think.
Perhaps enquire with your local council and see what they say about such "mosquito" (read: anti-youth) devices.
Or... You could go a less legal route and work out how to "accidentally" destroy it lol.
Edit: maybe also enquire with EPA:

I could only find sites to buy said devices lol
I found the model. Apparently it's meant to annoy cats, dogs, and some other animals. Still can hear it (as well as a friend my age). It's on private property and I don't live next to it so I don't think I have a good case for going to EPA, but I'll be emailing my council tomorrow as they say you can report noise hazard to them.
. I doubt council will help. They tend to go on decibels only.I can hear the mosquito things and will be 47 tomorrow. They can fuck right off with the teenager deterrent any idea.
I absolutely hate those things. A neighbour once had one and I could hear it from 3 houses away. I asked him could he turn it off and he said it was to keep birds away. People who donβt like birds or whatever they are trying to eliminate should just move into a concrete box apartment with no balcony and put up shutters on the windows, enjoy their lack of nature and leave the rest of us to enjoy peace with trees and birds.
