I know reading is hard for you hogs, but

"As a public corporation, the bank is bound by public law and may therefore not arbitrarily freeze bank accounts without providing an explanation, which it did not," Jewish Voice said in its statement.

The organisation hired a lawyer who has confirmed that the blocking of the account is illegal and constitutes a breach of contract, Hoban said.

Really. How about the point made literally further down in this chain that Germany isn't really doing shit about money laundering? Deutsche Bank literally got fined last year by the US Fed of all places for being too slow about money laundering lmao, but you're saying they're taking it seriously?

Does it occur to you that MAYBE they're using this as a punitive measure and not as a sincere effort to combat money laundering?

Germany has been trying to outlaw BDS in various ways since 2017, they've been openly arresting pro Palestine protestors since Oct 7, the Christian Democratic Union (a major party that holds 19% of the seats in their parliament, the 2nd most) stated the words “free Palestine” have no place in Germany and denounced the phrase as “a war cry of an internationally active terror gang", the keffiyeh scarf has been banned by more than a few institutions in Germany...

Is it really so outrageous to believe that the German govt is not doing this in good faith?
