The world is not growing, we've plateaued and the more educated people get the less children they have. It's great that you want to live in a city and it's a party 24/7 and socialize daily, but there are a lot of people who do like a less active city life and want to just enjoy a small plot of land and have some green around them.
Global population growth has slowed down since the 60's but it's still just under 1% per year
