Really hope signal stays disconnected. IMO this is more more facebooks attempt at retaining people on their platform as signal and others grow, showing users that truly private alternatives exist and are feature rich.

Signal has stated they won't be connecting with WhatsApp/Meta as it would reduce their user's privacy.
