These guys and a few other varieties of lizard (like fence lizards) in the south are theorized to be able to neutralize Lyme disease when it reaches their bloodstream from a tick. Some also theorize this also makes the tick that bit them unable to carry Lyme disease in the future

They also care for their eggs by absorbing heat outside and sort of rubbing along their eggs in a rotating circle to warm them, they are cool as hell
