You should probably read it. Yes, I paraphrased it a bit sarcastically, but I’m not wrong.

According to the story…. Judah's son- Er - is killed by god; more or less because he’s a jerk. Or because he was ugly. Or whatever.

Which means….. what, exactly?

Think about the kinds of assholes that have been allowed to live throughout history. Either Er was absolutely worse than any other monster, or god’s reasoning was random. (Or, god is made in their image and they’re not particularly reasonable people.)
