Feel free to whip this one out if you get any of that "Winnie the pooh is banned" nonsense from a propagandised westerner. Also remind them that it is racist.

I've got another one somewhere if a giant Winnie the Pooh stuffed toy in a tea house, but I'll be damned if I can find it right now

Is China nice? I'm jealous. I never get to travel.

If you get the chance, go. It's very nice. Make sure either you or one of your party can speak and read the lingo.

I've gotta break out the old Integrated Chinese books and see if I can get somewhat conversational.

I'm happy to have broken conversations with you if you like. I'd recommend the hello Chinese app too

I'll try it out, it looks pretty good.

I'd say the additional paid content is worth it to, once you've tried it out for a bit.

Seconded on the language part. I'm there right now and it's really difficult to find people that speak English. I'm having to use translation apps and gestures a lot.

I feel very lucky that I was able to travel there last year, and it was pretty rad. Way cooler than even I expected. Beautiful city (Chengdu), lots of great museums and sites like the panda sanctuary, amazing food, friendly people, and much more. If you ever get the chance, you should absolutely take it.
