Aladdin is a classic chaotic good (almost everyone) vs lawful evil (Jaffar) story. It should be on here

How is Aladdin good? He's a 35 year old "orphan" that's also a thief, while still being fit enough to work, who's trying to woo a 16 year old girl through lies and deception.

The Sultan is clearly an incompetent ruler and most of the socioeconomic inequalities of the kingdom are his fault. Probably Jaffar has to balance everything to keep the city afloat.

And the princess is wrong: Prince Ahmed is a piece of ass. Wouldn't mind bathing his bloody sweaty body with my tongue after a one-sided massacre.

Aladdin is said to be around 18, where are you getting 35? Jasmine is said to be around 18 too.

And if you’re wondering why some people become thieves while “being able bodied” that’s a very privileged pov

I am unclear, are you going based on the age of the actor? Also, do you really expect anyone to watch an hour long thing instead of just pointing to where it’s mentioned? The original Disney version is what I am going off of

It's from the original 1001 nights story.

Hmm I don’t think that’s right, it was added by a French writer later

Afaik the 1001 nights is a compilation and has posterior input from other writers.

However, as your link states, the story is originally coming from Syrian vocal heritage, and the French author acted as a transcriber.

I haven’t read these so I can’t speak to them, so unless you can please share some highlighted passages just saying something like this is kinda annoying because it’s misinformation at best and misattribution at worst
