Got it where I want it so far, sunk like 80g into it. Also died and lost all my stuff because I couldn't afford the corpse summoner :( UO is like you need to absolutely know what you're hunting, just because a rune book says it's a hunting ground for new players doesn't mean you can handle it. But I wonder what I can fight now given that I'm Grand Master in a couple skills.
How hard is it to get into ultima online? I've always been curious but like everquest i kinda look at it and check out instantly. Modern game conveniences have damaged me permanently.

I'd say Everquest is easier because the game follows standard RPG conventions like DnD and it's controls are modern with WASD and such. It's free to play on live and there's a couple private servers floating around which emulate the game at different points in it's past. UO is tough, I mean it's not a bad game but a lot of things about it are unintuitive and jank, and it does not hold your hand like something today would. It kicks your ass for not being prepared, at least this is my newbie take on it so far.
