Yeah, it's an amazingly powerful tool when actually used correctly, because its issues with composition can be solved by sketching and compositing things for it to clean up, and its issues with fucking up certain details can be solved by manually cleaning it up then making it clean the fixes and reintegrate them into the image with inpainting. It's supposedly being quietly used like that in professional contexts already, which is a massive labor issue because that means one basically competent worker can do the work of several skilled workers.
But then all the people spamming it on reddit and twitter are just like generating large batches, grabbing the least jank thing they see, and holding it up as some personal triumph. Sometimes they're clearly not even doing large batches, just like a single generation that looks like shit. There's even a sense that they think cleaning it up and guiding it better is "cheating," as if convincing the inscrutable machine to produce something that's not garbage on its own is some sort of special skill instead of a combination of luck and breaking one's own brain until you can babble the right keywords at it. That's not even getting into the ones who literally think it's magic and that they're creating magic spells to communicate with the infernal machine.
