You can save yourself even more time by forgetting to withdraw your overpowered fighting pal and have them one-shot anything you even glance at.
My favorite is some moves will sometimes like triple hit and one shot a pal that should just go down to 60% from it.
Those newly hatched pals are actually great for chipping away at the pal you want to capture slowly.
